Even after taking three years of Spanish when I was going to school I still was not adequately prepared to handle the street level Spanish that an officer faces on a day to day basis. Sgt. Jacqui MacConnell, a veteran of the Phoenix Police Department, began offering Spanish survival seminars to officers. That same week after taking the survival course I was able to conduct a felony traffic stop with multiple Spanish speaking subjects. I continue to use what I have learned from the training and have applied that knowledge while conducting search warrants on violent felons or "coyote" drop houses were the only language that is spoken is Spanish. NETCAT also offers personal safety seminars for civilians on self awareness and self defense. The training from NETCAT comes highly recommended.
