ABOUT DAN MURPHY
Daniel Murphy retired from the New York City Police Department in 2004 after a twenty year career, as a Detective-Sergeant supervising an elite squad in the NYPD/FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. During his career, he supervised a wide variety of investigations including Violent Gang Activity, Narcotics, Home-Invasion Robberies and covert counter surveillance teams. As a Detective, he was assigned to a task force with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the prestigious Major Case Squad where he specialized in the investigation of kidnappings for ransom, Bank Robbery, the Homicides of Police Officers, and Federal R.I.C.O. prosecutions of violent gangs. He has performed countless hours of Dignitary Protection duty for world leaders, three U.S. Presidents and members of Congress, and countless celebrities.
Mr. Murphy currently conducts personal protection training for executives and has arranged for protection for numerous executives and others while traveling and in their offices and residences. He regularly is involved in the assessment of, and response to, threats to persons and facilities. He has spoken to numerous law enforcement and civilian groups on topics ranging from kidnapping and extortion to workplace violence and personal protection while traveling. Mr. Murphy currently works for Albertson’s Inc. where he is their Director of Executive Protection and Facility Security.
